How Will Climate Change Affect Plants and Animals in Washington?
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Climate change is expected to cause significant changes in plant and animal distributions and communities, and may threaten the some of the region’s iconic species. The timing of biological events, such as spring budburst and migration, will shift for many species. Sea level rise is projected to displace coastal habitats and the species that depend on them. Ocean acidification will negatively impact marine species and ecosystems, particularly shellfish. Recent studies have provided projections specific to Pacific Northwest species and ecosystems, and significantly more detail on the impacts of ocean acidification on Washington’s marine species.

Social vulnerability of small scale coastal fisher's livelihood to climate change
Fisheries support livelihood of over half a billion of people globally. Many of these people live in coastal regions of developing countries; and have limited capacity to adapt and build resilience in the face of climate change. This research assesses the biophysical and socioeconomic characteristics of fishers in four coastal communities, Komenda, Elmina, Cape coast and Morree, in Ghana. Stru...

متن کاملPlant–pollinator interactions under climate change: The use of spatial and temporal transplants1
Climate change is affecting both the timing of life history events and the spatial distributions of many species, including plants and pollinators. Shifts in phenology and range affect not only individual plant and pollinator species but also interactions among them, with possible negative consequences for both parties due to unfavorable abiotic conditions or mismatches caused by differences in...

Background and Objectives: ?????? Methods: ?????? Findings: ?????? Conclusion: ????? One way to predict how marine ecosystems will react to climate change is to use the time series data. Considering the various economic and ecological values of marine species, and that the demographic dynamics of these species depend on two factors of climate variability and human activities, it was deci...
متن کاملStudy on the effect of climate change on maximum precipitations and probable maximum flood in the Karoon River zone of Iran
Climate change is one of the challenges which affect different areas of the human’s life on the earth, one of which is its effect on extreme events such as flood and drought. Today, one of the most important topics being discussed is that how the intensity of heavy precipitations and flood will change in future compared to that of the present values. In the present study, we try to investigate ...
